Does anyone know of a public domain program that will take a text file and convert it into a postscript file? There is this postscript printer that was bought so that major applications could print to it in postscript. However when ever one wants to print a simple text file( a program, a log file, etc) one has to import it into something like WordPerfect(slow) to print it, Or one has to turn off the printer, pull out the PostScript cartridge, and turn it on again before one can print it out as a dos file through the PCL mode of the printer. What would be nice is a program that will take as input a text file and send postscript as output. It would be really nice if one could use this program within a pipe. Any ideas? Patrick Champion

You want postprn.zip, which is on grape:
Grape.ecs.clarkson.edu is a Zenith Z-248 running MS-DOS. We use a
modified version of KA9Q's TCP/IP NET that allows us to shell out to
COMMAND.COM while still processing packets. Grape is attached to the
Internet using a NI6510 Ethernet card donated by Racal Interlan for
that purpose. After shelling to DOS, we run an Opus BBS. The
particulars:
Almost all files are stored in .ZIP format. A .ZIP file contains a group
of files that have been compressed to save space. You need an unzipper
to access these files. Either PKzip102 or dezip20 will suffice.
A catalog of all files on grape is in /d/general/catalog.zip.
ZIP: Version 1.01+ required. Versions 0.90 and 0.92 do NOT work.
FTP: grape.ecs.clarkson.edu [128.153.13.196], any username&&password will work.

We won the cold war. The Russians spent trillions defending their stuff,
then they found that they didn't have any stuff. Will we avoid the same trap?
