Does anyone know of a PC program which helps improve typing skills? Any
information will be greatly appreciated.

Take a look at TYPEVADE in the TSGMEB13 package available by
anonymous ftp from chyde.uwasa.fi. There is also a program called
TYPDRILL probably somewhere in our archives.

I have two, one that I wrote and one that I've modified and improved.

TYPEDRILL - A drill program with two modes:
	1. Single large block letters flash on screen; you type them.
	   (Several levels of difficulty.)
	2. A line at a time is displayed (from an arbitrary text file).
You type to match the line.
In either mode, stats on speed and accuracy are kept, and you can
	display them at any time.

	Freeware (including Turbo Pascal source).
	By yours truly.

TYPEFAST - A game that stresses typing speed:
Words appear on the screen, and float down toward the bottom.
You must "shoot down" the words before they reach the bottom
of the screen, by typing them correctly.

PD (including C source for PC and UNIX).
Originally by Steve Spearman, modified by me.

I can send or post. (TYPEDRILL is a single-part, TYPEFAST is 2 or 3 parts.)
If I get enough requests over the next couple of weeks I'll post it,
otherwise I'll just Email it to the requesters. Actually, either or
both may have been posted to the net, but not within the last 2 years.

I would appreciate if you could upload your programs to
chyde.uwasa.fi /incoming directory, or if you dont have ftp send
them to me over email so that I can make them publicly available
from our site.

A note for other readers. Please do not follow my bad example of
posting a request. I do this to inform the gentle readers that
these two programs may be soon available from our site, and that we
still invite quality uploads to chyde.uwasa.fi from the original
authors.
