Someone has kindly uploaded to us Shawn Cooper's freeware /pc/unix/batchftp10.zoo. This is a very useful BSD Unix program to automate connections to anonymous ftp sites. This approach will eliminate much of the ineffective connection time that burdens the net. To use it first get it and then uncompress it by using zoo e batchftp10 then compile it cc batchftp.c -o batchftp Make file of the list of files to get, eg -c where_you_want_it_put_on_your_directory_system (eg ~/downloads) -d /pc/ts -a 0dir-ts -b tsarc091.arc Next, give the following command, and that's all there is to it. Convenient, and simple. batchftp mylist 128.214.12.3 anonymous your_email_address_as_password & ...................................................................
