[comp.binaries.ibm.pc.d] UNZIP for IBM VM/CMS now available from SIMTEL20

w8sdz@WSMR-SIMTEL20.ARMY.MIL (Keith Petersen) (10/18/90)

Thanks to Mark Adler <madler@piglet.caltech.edu> for uploading UNZIP
for IBM VM/CMS. The file is now available from SIMTEL20 as:

pd3:<misc.ibm-cms>
VMUNZIP.ARC UNZIP for IBM VM/CMS mainframes. Pascal source

This is an extract from the read me file for VMUNZIP.

VMUNZIP is based mainly on the Turbo Pascal program UNZIP(tm) by
Samuel H. Smith. The CRC checking is based on that in the DEZIP
package by R.P. Byrne.

VMUNZIP is designed to run on IBM's VM/CMS operating system. It
will unzip all files compatible with PKZIP(tm) release 1.02, as
of October, 1989. The program is written mainly in IBM's VS
Pascal version 1.0 with one routine written in REXX. Complete
source code is included. It was written and debugged on an HPO
4.2 system. However, it should be executable on any version of
VM, including VM/XA. Due to the considerable differences in file
structure and internal character code between the IBM PC and the
370 mainframe, the files produced by this program are generally
not directly usable. A companion program is therefore distributed
along with VMUNZIP. It is APRINT (for Ascii PRINT).

(end excerpt)

Sorry, SIMTEL20 does not have APRINT at this time.

APRINT in both 370 assembler source and CMS executable (module) are in the
VMUNZIP.ARC file. So you do have them.
