Try awf, a nroff {-man,-ms} clone posted recently to either alt.sources or comp.sources.unix. It consists of a shell script driving an AWK program (!). I'm pretty sure it will work on MessDOS using Ian Stewartson's Bourne shell and either GAWK or Rob Duff's AWK. It won't be quick, but it does handle man pages nicely. --richard

I'm pretty sure it will work on MessDOS Well, believe me, it doesn't. AWK runs out of memory on MSDOS systems. (At least all the AWK programs I have do). -- Sincerely, berg%cip-s01.informatik.rwth-aachen.de@unido.bitnet Stephen R. van den Berg. The "ro" program posted last year to comp.sources.misc comes close enough to nroff to be able to handle most man pages. It didn't come with -man macros but they were not too tough to add. The main modification was unnesting a deeply nested if-then-else construct in one of the awk programs. - James -- James Sullins | -------------------| jcs@engr.uark.edu | jcs@uafhp.uark.edu |
