[comp.binaries.ibm.pc.d] wineyes wasn't working for me

s873561@minyos.xx.rmit.oz.au (11/02/90)

Some time ago I posted a note saying that I couldn't get WinEyes to work.
I said that it gave me an "application execution error" in a window, and asked
me to check my path etc. I eventually managed to get the program working, only
after I made available 128k of the 320k extended memory (my system has 640k
normal memory, 384k extended [less 64k due to the HIMEM.SYS XMS driver]).
It took quite a while to figure out that it wanted the extended memory (I don't
know why it wants to live up there, and why it won't work with less that 128k).
It also won't work on my 286 if Windows 3 is started up as win /r.

After all that (phew), it is good for novelty value, but seems too flickery to
leave on the desktop for more than a few days.

Thanks to those who took the time to mail to me.
