I hate to be a nag, but what, if anything, is going on with the Minix demo? For those of you who haven't followed this thread, Bill was asked if we would want it posted to cbip. He threw the idea at us, and we overwhelming agreed that we'd like to see the Minix demo. After a while, someone asked about it, and Bill said that he had to do some hairy stuff to test it out, so it would be a while. As I said, I hate to nag about it, but what's the current state of things? Has the idea been scrapped? Shelved indefinitely? Is it being posted as we speak (write?)? If it's not coming to cbip in the near future, is there an ftp site that has the demo version of Minix? I understand that Minix is not public domain, but if they were going to post this demo it must be freely distributable, so is it being distributed via ftp? Just curious... -- Bob Rusbasan bob@en.ecn.purdue.edu

This is on hold until I get the time to package it. There are enough people who take the time and trouble to package their stuff ready to use, that I am not going to lose sleep over it. It *is* still on my list of stuff to do. -- bill davidsen - davidsen@sixhub.uucp (uunet!crdgw1!sixhub!davidsen) sysop *IX BBS and Public Access UNIX moderator of comp.binaries.ibm.pc and 80386 mailing list "Stupidity, like virtue, is its own reward" -me
