[comp.binaries.ibm.pc.d] elvis under Desqview

suresh@suresh.scs.com (Suresh) (11/16/90)

I had no problems getting elvis to run on my 386 PC.
However when I tried editing more than one file(in
different windows) in the Desqview environment the
system just seemed to hang. Moreover, after rebooting
if I tried editing the files that I was editing when
the system hung up, I get the message "file xyz busy".
A simple check shows that the file is intact, but
elvis does not seem to want to edit it anymore.

Any ideas on what is going on?

You cannot edit more than one file per disk drive at one time.
This means in Desqview, if you edit a file on C:, you cannot edit
any other file on C:. This is a limitation on the temp file
name generation and is what I read shortly after the sources were
posted.
