I have perused the pd1:<msdos.deskaccess> directory at simtel looking for a simple, yet powerful, calendar/journal program. My major complaints with the ones I saw which were designed to do such a task are that they are either too cumbersome, involving special installations (like hardwired directories, blechh!!) or demanding extreme dexterity to use (poor use of the keyboard); or they limit the amount of information which can be stored for a specific day either with a size limit or with a horrid editor. Does anyone know of a program with the following properties: 1. No stupid installation procedures. Either too simple to need installation or smart enough to allow reasonable flexibility, specifically location of binaries & data files in user specifiable manner. 2. Simple interface including: a. Overall month and/or week view of schedule with the ability to "zoom" in on a specified date. b. "Zoom" would involve relatively unlimited capacity for information in either a simple editor which doesn't bother the user with margins, or even the invocation of an external editor. That's it. Any other features would be ok as long as they don't get in the way. Hope I'm not asking for too much. ######## U N * X : L i v e F r e e o r D i e ######## Keith Jackson {convex, texsun}!smu!jackson == jackson@csvax.seas.smu.edu Disclaimer: The opinions in this article are mine.
