Before you hit 'n' listen to my terrible story. I got cbase from c.b.i.p. just fine (I waited until all the parts were there). However when I got it home and uudecoded it I found two problems. 1) It uudecodes to cbase.zoo (no huge surprise) but it seems that cbase.zoo is also one of the pieces of the archive. Consequently when it asked if I wanted to overwrite cbase.zoo I said no. This doesn't seem right; that is, it seems strange to have an archive share a filename with one of its components. 2) When, upon reading the accompanying .txt files, I discovered that this indeed was supposed to be one of the archived files I tried to run looz x again on cbase.zoo. The careful reader will notice the key word "tried". The attempt failed and the archive got blown away. To be more precise looz freaked and the archive is no more! Where do you come into the picture? How would you like to email cbase to me, or put it up for anonymous ftp. I checked some of the major sites and did not find it. For the ambitious reader, I would also like to hear what the C people out there are using to mimic Dbase applications and why they are using it (i.e. Cbase, Softc, Codebase, etc.). Thanks tons! Email is good, net is okay. -- David M.
