[comp.binaries.ibm.pc.d] Deluxe paint and Paintbrush image formats/converters

b_egan@levers.enet.dec.com (Bob Egan) (12/19/90)

What is the standard file type used in Deluxe-paint and Paintbrush.

Are there MD-DOS converters say to GIF so I can then convert them
to Postscript ?

To I have to pre-process the color image (if drawn in color) before
converting GIF to postscript (my laser printer is B&W only)

btw..I have a gif to postscript *.exe for VMS if someone needs it.

thanks,

Paintbrush use the PCX format (*.PCX). Don't know about Deluxe Paint.

PCX to GIF can be done by a PD program called CVTGIF.

Depends on how you are converting to postscript. I think there is a
GIF to postscript converter (that should convert the color to grays)
called POSTGIF. You can also display it and do a screen grab directly
to postscript(EPS) in grayscale using Screen-to-Postscript.

Does it do color postscript ? I'm now looking for a gif to color postscript
converter for the PC (executable or source).
