[comp.binaries.ibm.pc.d] UBASIC v8.15 BASIC interpreter uploaded to SIMTEL20

neumann@FUNCTION.MPS.OHIO-STATE.EDU ("Walter D. Neumann") (01/08/91)

UBASIC 8.15 is now available for anonymous ftp in directory pub/msdos/ubasic
on shape.mps.ohio-state.edu, and from WSMR-SIMTEL20.ARMY.MIL:

pd1:<msdos.basic>
UBAS815.ZIP High precision math-oriented BASIC interpreter
UBMPQS32.ZIP UBASIC prime factorization pgm for 386/486

UBAS815 has the high precision real and complex arithmetic (up to
2600 digits) of previous versions of UBASIC, but adds exact rational
arithmetic and arithmetic of polynomials with complex, rational, or
modulo p coefficients, as well as string handling and limited list
handling capabilities.

UBMPQS32 is a UBASIC program for prime factorization that can handle
numbers up to over 80 digits---still a supercomputer task two or three
years ago! Since it is large and needs significant hardware (80836
processor, 640K memory + 1MEG extended, at least 20MEG hard disk space),
it will be of much more limited interest, so it is distributed separately.
