For anyone who may be interested I have created a GIF cataloging program for use on IBM PC compatible computers. You may remember that I posted the initial version to a.s.p a month or so ago. The program makes it easy to keep track of all the GIF files you get and forget about. Giflog will help reduce the number of duplicates in your collection, make it easy to find a particular file, print reports, automatically extract name, filesize, resolution and colors from the file, allow you to save a comment for each file, and much more. Cataloging can be done from either a disk subdirectory, or from the root directory of a floppy disk. And the best part is there are no strings attached. No shareware fees. No nagware menus popping up all the time. No hidden features for those who register. No registering at all. Just a suggestion that we all share what we have. I have this program. What do you have? Giflog v1.1 is temporarily available for downloading via anonymous ftp from freebie.engin.umich.edu in the directory /pub/GIFLOG_1.1 . The filename is giflog11.zip. For those unable or unwilling to use ftp can drop me a message and I would be happy to mail you a copy. Soon Giflog will show up at SIMTEL and c.b.i.p. There is also a mailing list I am keeping to update those who use Giflog of any updates, bugs, bug-fixes, etc. If you would like to receive this mailing send me mail stating this. Thanks.
