Hi all, I recently decided to add a 3.5 1.44 mb floppy drive to my computer, and for some reason I can't get my XT to recognize it as anything more than a 720 kb floppy. I tried using the drivparm=/d:1 command, and I also tried using the driver.sys /d:1 in my config.sys, neither one of them could get my XT to recognize the drive as 1.44. The card that I bought (mail order), claims to be a HD and low density card, so I could run two drives off of it that were: 360K, 720K, 1.2 MB and 1.44 MB. The Drive (Also mail ordered) is a Toshiba. The funny thing is that I can read a 1.44 meg disk with data on it, fine, but when I want to write to it, i.e. format, it is only recognized as a 720 kb floppy. Any ideas as to what I can do and why this is happening? Also I bought a clock/calendar replacement card and installed it, but I need a program called timer.com, or some equivalent. Any ideas of any ftp sites to get this off of? Thanks in advance. /* Robert Allen Gottlieb Internet: gottlieb@umbc5.umbc.edu */ /* "It is better to be pissed off than pissed on." */ /* These opinions herein are not that of UMBC, but that of Jr, my cat, */ /* and me. */
