Hi there! Does anyone out there know of a program that is functionally the same as the UNIX 'move' command? I've only really seen programs that'll move but NOT rename. Also a directory move would be useful. Thanks in advance. Kev e-mail kap@eng.cam.ac.uk

I am a devoted fan of XTree Gold Version 2 (the latest and the best) which will let you move files across directories and drives. Directory structures can also be moved with a few additional keystrokes. Version 2 now incorporates both PKZIP and PKARC and will let you *browse* through zipped files (i.e., the contents of the file and not merely the table as PCTools V 6 does). Also, 4DOS - the star of shareware softwares - lets you move files with a simple MOVE command. Additional switches let you verify before overwriting, among other things. With 4DOS around, the reasons for not replacing DOS's command.com with 4DOS must be very tenuous or really rare. I do not work for the makers of either XTree or 4DOS. Those who do must be smart indeed. I am simply an admiring user. - Jhinuk Chowdhury
