I was wondering if anyone had a program for the PC to convert Macintosh BinHex format files (either into UUENCODE or into an actual file). I do a lot of scanning and retouching on the Macintosh, but I would like to do some animation using a PC, and the only way to convert seems to be BinHexing the pictures, sending them over an ASCII-only line, and then reconversion. I can do this just fine in the wrong direction (there is a UUDECODE for the Macintosh), but there isn't an UnBinHexer for the PC or a Macintosh UUENCODER. If anybody knows of either, please reply or post it to comp.binaries.ibm.pc. Leo Mauler mauler@kuhub.cc.ukans.edu

As the Frequently Asked Questions file suggests, you should look on SIMTEL. If you followed the instructions in the FAQ regarding using the index server, you would have sent the message lookup /binhex/i to rjc@math.princeton.edu, and you would have received the following response: Programs on wsmr-SIMTEL20.army.mil as of 91-04-02 matching your search criterion: Directory PD1:<MSDOS.MAC> XBIN23.ZIP B 34636 910121 Decode a Macintosh BinHex file Please learn to perform these searches yourself. comp.binaries.ibm.pc.d is not a public forum for requesting that file searches be performed on your behalf. -- Raymond Chen, your (not always) friendly FAQ maintainer.
