Hi, This is to announce the availability of an email server for individual parts of comp.binaries.ibm.pc artilces. To get a part of an article that you missed, send email to: cbipserv@kuhub.cc.ukans.edu where the body of the email message (NOT the subject line) contains commands. Currently, the server understands two different commands, sendme and address. The sendme command looks like: sendme vnnimmm where vnnimmm is the volume and issue number that is included in every CBIP article. The address command is optional and may be used to route the returned article to a different email address than the return address of the requestor. The format of the address command is: address user@site.dom The address given must contain a fully qualified domain name. UUCP bang paths are NOT supported. All commands are processed in the order they are found in the message, so something like: sendme v00i001 address me@my.site.edu would send volume 00 issue 001 to the reply address of the email message, and the address command would have no effect. Currently, only the first ten lines of the email message are scanned for commands. If you send something to the server and don't get a response, it means that either your email address wasn't valid or the server couldn't find any commands in your mail. Only articles posted within the last 30 days are availble. This is not intended to be an archive server, just a way to get missing parts of a fairly recent article. This server is currently available on a test basis. If you have any problems, please report them to me. The server is not intended to be very robust, so don't bother trying to break it, it would be too easy. :-) -- USmail: Bob Sloane, University of Kansas Computer Center, Lawrence, KS, 66045 E-mail: sloane@kuhub.cc.ukans.edu, sloane@ukanvax.bitnet, AT&T: (913)864-0444
