I have uploaded to SIMTEL20 the distributable part of what I got when
I registered DVC.
pd1:<msdos.desqview>
DVC17.ZIP DV Commander: Command-line control of DESQview
This is an update to DVC16.ZIP. It's a very nice shareware program; if you
register, you also get a PIF editor.
From the manual:
DV Commander is like a command-line version of your DESQview
{DESQ} key (usually your Alt key). From the DOS command line it
can do many of the things you would normally do by tapping the
{DESQ} key.
Among DV Commander's features are:
* DESQview Submenu facility
* Spawn a new task
* Execute commands directly from the DESQview menus
* Open a list of windows automatically
* Start a window with prompting for parameters and directory
* Beep for a specified frequency and duration (useful in a
background batch file to signal success or failure)
* Hide or unhide (Show) a window
* Set the window Frame on or off
* Set Justify mode on or off
* Wait for a specified amount of time
* Resize and position a window
* Make a window background or foreground
* Name mail boxes and check for a named mail box (useful for
making sure a program is started only once)
And summarized from the WHATSNEW.TXT file:
Version 1.7 04/15/91
* DIsable / ENable commands to control access to DESQview menus
* Execute Command to run any program in its own window
* Pre-emptive menus that can respond before they're fully displayed
* Reorganized the manual with a table of contents
