[net.games.trivia] Wacky Racers

tomoc (01/11/83)

All these Saturday morning trivia questions got me thinking about a show
that was on CBS quite a while ago called WACKY RACES. There were about
10 different racers, each with cars to suit their personalities. I was
able to remember a few characters, but not all, and especially couldn`t
come up with their numbers. Let`s see how well we can fill the race track
with racers. Here are a couple for starters:

Peter Perfect
Penelope Pitstop
Professor Pat Pending
Dick Dastardly (the bad guy) and his dog Mutley
An unknown lumberjack-type guy and his beaver

There`ve got to be more

Trivia people, start your engines!

Another Wacky Racers car had a vampire, a Frankenstein-like monster
and a ghoulish looking woman (in addition to a "hip" wolfman). I think
that their car's name used "ghoul" as a root word.

Anybody remember the cars that were entered in the wacky races? I vaguely
remember some of them, but I'd also like to know the numbers that each car
had.

Lets see some of the Wacky Racer's were:

Professor Pat Pending (car #4)
Penelope Pitstop
Peter Perfect
Dick Dastardly and His Dog Muttly
The Mob-Hill Gang

I cant think of any other right now. Will think some more.

I remember one more (although I'm sure there are a few more).
The Slag Brothers (cave-men who drove around in a hollowed out rock)
I don't remember the number though.

Excess me, the lumberjack was Rufus Rough-cut,
he had a beaver for a partner. The car was called the 'buzz-saw'.
(it had circular saw blades for wheels.

The bear was teamed up with a hill-billie, who had a still
in his car. I am not sure of his name.

Will keep thinking!

To the best of my recollection:

Car 1: two caveman types
Car 2: The Creepy _____ - contained monsters, etc.
Car 3: Prof. Pat Pending's Convert-o-car
Car 5: Penelope Pit Stop
Car 7: The Ant Hill Mob
Car 8: the hillbillies and the bear
Cars 4 and 10: I used to confuse these - one was the lumberjack car, and the
other had a similar looking guy (maybe a Red Baron type?)

And of course: Car 00: Dick Dastardly and Muttley.
