[comp.binaries.ibm.pc.d] IM update: Floating gently thru 3d space

kds@physics.phy.duke.edu (Kevin Stokes) (04/29/91)

IM is a program which displays a high-res color float through space
with the warp special effect, and many other features.
A few months ago my shareware program InnerMission was available
via comp.binaries.ibm.pc. Since then, two subtle bugs have been fixed,
and I would like to make the corrected version available to all. If
you had tried IM before, and had trouble with the machine locking up,
it may be worth it to try IM once again. Also, some support for
43 and 50 row text modes has been added.
A new version 1.8 will soon be released, as well as a new version 1.8
of IMS.EXE, a similar program which takes half the DOS RAM that IM does.
If anyone would like a copy of these programs, please send a brief email
message to me (kds@phy.duke.edu), and I will email a uuencoded zip file.
Please request IM.ZIP, and/or IMS.ZIP.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with IM, it is a screen saver with
relaxing 3d view of floating through a star-filled 3d space. The code is
written in optimized assembler for speed, so the motion is smooth.
There are over 750 simultaneous stars on the screen at any one time,
and over 26 different options so that the program can be tailored
to the user's taste.
IM is a shareware TSR program which has a mildly enforced 1 week trial
period. It occupies 10k (IMS.EXE) to 19k (IM.EXE), and less if expanded
RAM is available.
