I need a diskcopy program that can - do multiple copy - use all the available memory (not suffering from this stupid limit of 640 K.) - support all types of floppies I hate inserting 6 times a floppy to make a copy of it. Does anyone know about such a program ? Where can I get it ? Andre April E-mail: aa@info.ucl.ac.be

This is not exactly what you are looking for, since what it does is that it copies all (if you wish) the files from the same disk drive at one go. You'll only have to change floppies once, but your target floppy must be pre-formatted. It is a relatively simple MsDos batch, scopy.bat in /pc/ts/tsbat24.arc. But it works well as a quick and dirty solution. And it can easily be improved to include the formatting of the target floppy. ................................................................... I think TCOPY is the trick here. I have had good results with it. (Available from the usual gang of archive sites) -- (Another fine mess brought to you by valley@gsbsun.uchicago.edu)

It is in vol10n05 available from Simtel or Wuarchive. I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds like something that you may be looking for. --

The source disk goes in ONCE, and the target(s) also once. It goes to RAM, if it runs out of room it continues onto EMS, and if need be, also puts some on the hard drive. Runs under Desqview 2.26 fer sure, fer sure, btw.

Me too! >Does anyone know about such a program ? Where can I get it ? There is just such a program called COPYQM! It will use EMS/XMS or disk to read the entire disk an dthen spit it out on to as many unformatted disks you want... and much more... It is manufactured by Sydex and the latest version is 2.25. They are at: Sydex P.O. Box 5700 Eugene, OR 97405 Voice: (503) 683-6033 FAX: (503) 683-1622 Data: (503) 683-1385 The product is also available via your favorite shareware outlet... the zip file is named copyq222.zip (or if you can find copyq225.. all the better) I have it registered so, I don't look for the shareware zip files anymore!! Hi, I use a program called CopyQM. It is something like 1Pass1. You can specify alot of features like using Extended or Expended or HD for storage of access information. It has also a disk detect feature so that you can make multiple copies without touching the keyboard after setup. That is it detects each disk that is inserted. It will wait for you to insert the master, the moment you close the drive door it starts reading, detects the format and stores into whatever excess space you specify (ext, exp,HD). After reading, it prompts you for blank disk and the moment you close the drive door it starts to copy the information on it. It does track formating such that as it writes a track it formats it. It is pretty nifty but you have to be careful about inserting the wrong disk as it starts to write straight away. I not sure what it is shareware, freeware or otherwise, but it is very good. The only problem it expects "good" disk ie no error sectors. But then so do most other disk copiers. Regards, Michael

Well, I'm looking for a file copier, which would have the same options as 1pass1, i.e. to be able to store the material to be copied in XMS/EMS/HD. If anyone knows of the existence of such a utility, please let me know. Respond by E-Mail, if there is sufficient interest, I'll summaze. Anssi Saari

True, bucopyq226 isn't a file copier and neither is 1pass. What I meant with the term 'file copier' is a program that lets the user choose the files he wants to copy from the source disk. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ + Anssi Saari + This space for hire !!! + + s106275@lehtori.cc.tut.fi + + + Tampere University of Technology + CALL int+358-(9)31-652176 + +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
