On 24 May, Dale M. Forsyth (qqc@mace.cc.purdue.edu) asked if anyone had a way to slow down Stargoose on a 386. I have thought for some time that a shell program that would allow the speed of a program to be controlled would be very useful, and not only for games! There are useful programs, especially those that use graphics, which do not work well on faster machines. The ideal solution would seem to be a program (TSR ?) that would allow a choice of a speed factor at which a subsequently launched program would be run. The archives that I use do not appear to have anything like this, although I was unsure how such a program would be classified, so may have missed something. Any suggestions would be most welcome. Naturally, such a program should also allow the program being run to go faster too :-) -- David I Sales efst03@castle.ed.ac.uk
