[net.games.trivia] Petticoat Junction Lyrics

bristol@hou2h.UUCP (N.BRISTOL) (11/06/84)

Does anyone out there know the lyrics to the
"Petticoat Junction" theme? Recall that there were
two versions: one before and one after
Bea Benaderet's death. I'm afraid that I don't know
the answer to this one.

Here's one I do know the answer to:
What did Bea Benaderet die of?

Here's another one, just for fun.
What was the last technological development
needed before the construction industry was able
to build skyscrapers?

Come ride the little train that is rolling down the track to the Junction.
Forget about your cares, it is time to relax at the Junction.
Lots of curves, you bet, 'neven more, when you get to the Junction.

There's a little hotel called the Shady Rest at the Junction.
It is run by Kate, come and be her guest at the Junction.
And that's Uncle Joe, he's a moving kind of slow at the Junction.

It is run by Joe, come and be his guest at the Junction.
And there's a lady M.D. whose as pretty as can be at the Junction.

My guess is elevators.

Didn't some article in Scientific American say that steel for the
construction industry was the last connection for the construction
of skyscapers? This article appeared sometime is the last year
and I can't remember. I don't have any handy at the moment so I can't
check. As for elevators, they were put in after buildings started
reaching about ten stories, didn't they?
