[comp.binaries.ibm.pc.d] Panasonic KX-P1124 Printer Driver Wanted

churritz@polyslo.CalPoly.EDU (Skito) (06/17/91)

Am looking for a Windows 3.0 printer driver for a KX-P1124 printer.
I thought new Windows driver library would have it. Does any body know
the whereabouts of such a thing?

Use the Epson LX-500/800 if it's a 1124 or LX-1000/1500 if it's a 1124i.

Is this the same as the "Epson 24-pin" driver? The KX-P1124 is
normally configured like an LQ-2500.

rschmidt@copper.ucs.indiana.edu (roy schmidt) (06/22/91)

Indeed, the KX-P1124 emulates the Epson LQ-2500. Unfortunately, the
Win3 Epson 24-pin driver and the driver on cica both have a flaw: they
do not support all the native fonts of the KX-P1124, so you wind up
printing these fonts v*e*r*y s*l*o*w*l*y in graphics mode. This slows
down other programs running in foreground or background, and hogs up a
lot of memory for the Print Manager that isn't needed.

So the question still remains. Is there a custom driver available
somewhere for the KX-P1124? Do we have to wait for WPerfect for Win to
hit the scene?
