A group of family and friends were seated around the TP table, and the following question was asked: What Italian island is referred to as "The Jewel of the Mediterranean"? The listed answer was, get this, "Sicily". A woman on my team, who's been a travel agent for six years, objected to this, saying that the correct answer is "Capri". I was inclined to agree, and I told her that I would ask the most solid bunch of experts I know... Can someone verify my friend's answer? So adamant were the opinions on this point, that we tossed the card and read another. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Bill Bailey AT&T Bell Laboratories Allentown PA !ihnp4!aluxz!wfb ------------------------------------------------------------------- (The opinions expressed herein will rarely be those of AT&T...)

> What Italian island is referred to as "The Jewel of the Mediterranean"? > [TP says Sicily, netter & travel agent friend say Capri] TP may just be correct here, although I'm not familiar with this designation. Capri is located between the Gulfs of Naples and Salerno in the Tyrrhenian Sea, and so, while undoubtedly a jewel, is not in the Mediterranean. -- Rod Williams dual!ptsfa!ptsfc!rjw
