I need some help with NetHack version 3.0J that was posted to pc.binaries (~apr 9, 1991 or so the readme says) All of the files have unpacked with the correct size... But, when I run Nethack from the command line, I get this: OVLMGR: Unable to resolve overlay file names. (0009:30A0:A001:000) With the OVLMGR in bold... I don't normally read this group, so I would have missed any postings about this.. I didn't see any patches (posted to pc.binaries anyway) for it.. Oh, I'm running Compaq DOS 3.31, files & buffers = 30, Ansi.sys, & Himem.sys in the config.sys Thanks, -Chert -- Chert Pellett - chert@dungeon.lonestar.org A layman knows he has to kick it. Yeah, sorry.
Right now the ovlmgr does its file name resolution based on your
directory separator being a '\' char. Anything else will cause
it indigestion. I thought we had documented this ... then again,
maybe we didn't.
Hopefully I can fix this for the next release. I ask you to
please tolerate it for now.
