     The DC Chapter of the ACM awards three scholarships for students (both

undergraduate and graduate) whose studies involve computers or computer
science, regardless of academic department or specific area of study. 
     The basis for the awards is merit, and not on availability of other
support, membership in ACM, or need.The scholarships are available to students
in any college or university in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and 
Virginia. This eligibility is based on the location of your school and not on
your place of residence.
     The Awards are:
          1.) $1,500 undergraduate scholarship for upperclass year (note: Must
               be second semester sophomore in Spring 1991 for eligibility)
          2.) $1,500 Masters' Degree Fellowship
          3.) Samuel N. Alexander ACM Fellowship Award ($3,000)
     Full applications are available from various departments and financial aid
offices at the colleges and universities throughout the District of Columbia,
Maryland, and Virginia. Announcements and Applications are also available by
response to this posting. (Please include a mailing address if you wish to
