It seems that Aerosmith's current US tour is helping them sell
their latest album, _Pump_. People are finding out what I've known for
a while now: their latest album is one of their best in the last ten
years! On the Billboard chart for 1/20/90, it's at #6, and it's sure to
go higher as they continue their sweep of the US.
If you love a great hard rockin' show, go see Aerosmith!!! They
were here in Binghamton on Tuesday night and played a great show.
Steven Tyler had so much energy (he was dancing all over the stage), and
the other guys were a great support crew (Joe Perry was *hot* on
guitar!). They played eight "older" songs from their 70's albums... the
rest were from _Permanent Vacation_ and _Pump_. I was impressed.
Skid Row opened... they were pretty awful... I stuffed my ears
with tissue to drown that sh*t out. Sebastian was well behaved (luckily
they check concert-goers for bottles, cameras, etc., here in Binghamton
at the Arena) but he's got the worst concert manners I've ever seen!
Every sentence that was not in a song had a swear word in it. At one
point, he was trying to communicate with the "youth gone wild" of today:
Seb: "Here's something to try when someone tells you what the
f*ck to do, ok?"
"Everyone put up your middle fingers... ok... f*ck yeah...
now say 'F*CK YOU'"
Crowd: "F*CK YOU!"
Seb: "Alright!! F*ck yeah!! Once again!! C'mon! 'F*CK YOU!!'"
Crowd: "F*CK YOU!!"
Seb: "So what are ya gonna say the next time some f*cking
a**hole, some f*cking idiot tries to tell you what to do??"
Crowd: "F*CK YOU!"
Seb: "Again!!!"
.
.
.
etc. (you get the idea...)
Well, I was not impressed with Skid Row. Aerosmith, on the other
hand, was spectacular.
Chris.
