The symposium will be hosted by the University of Central Florida Institute for Simulation and Training (IST) on behalf of PM-TRADE/DARPA. The purpose of the symposium will be: - to review a proposed definition of BR in its component elements; - to identify research gaps in the component elements of BR; - to provide a forum to exchange information on BR and modeling research, and its relevance to CGF technology; - and to present upcoming research programs and opportunities relating to BR and CGF. Examples of research topics covered by this symposium include: - Autonomous Agent modeling - Agent Representation - and Training Developer Specifications for Automated Forces in Distributed Battlefield Simulation IST Technical Report (IST-TR-90-15) of 15 Aug 1990 titled A TESTBED FOR AUTOMATED ENTITY GENERATION IN DISTRIBUTED INTERACTIVE SIMULATION, paragraph 1.5 describes the components of a CGF. This report was distributed at the Initial BR Symposium of 24 and 25 Oct 1990 at Fort Knox, KY. An electronic copy of this report has been placed on the IST bulletin board system. Please call (407) 658-5077 to access this system. A call for papers on these topics has been issued to those who attended the Initial BR Symposium. A limited number of papers have also been invited for presentation. The BR Symposium will be organized to provide an opportunity for attendees to participate in discussions of Uniformed Service User Needs, Systems Issues, and Technical presentations on the Components of a CGF. I know that my interarrival times are exponential. I have a huge data and when I fit them to different distributions, I'm not satisfied with any particular distribution as they do not show the peak distribution of packets and off peak distribution of packets. I was able to dynamically change the interarrival times of these data packets during simulation and was able to generate almost the same shape, showing peak and off peak points. It turned out to be the inverse of the volumes for each hour. (I have hourly data). Is it statistically acceptable to inverse the volumes for each hour and distribute them exponentially to get the volume and the pattern I need ? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Keywords: help please Date: 29 Mar 91 19:04:37 GMT Organization: Ohio University CS Dept., Athens I have recently chosen virtual reality as my topic for a research paper. However I have not exactly been running into an overabundance of information while digging around in the library here at O.U. The paper is for a Junior Composition English course and my target audience is the rest of the class, therefore, I need to try to keep the terminology somewhat basic and easy to understand. So far the best material I've found is the OMNI interview with Jaron Lanier and a couple short articles in New Scientist magazine. If anyone out there could help point me in the direction of more sources, or possibly e-mail some- thing you have on this topic, I would really appreciate it. Does anybody know of an e-mail adress of the EDIF User Group in Arizona? I've heard that UC Berkeley has some EDIF tools as public domain software.
