Subject: GPSS-Fortran: it there a C version ?
Cc: reilly@cis.uab.edu

The GPSS-Fortran system of Berndt Schmidt has been around for a
long time. Two questions arise:

 1. is the code available electronically, esp. for Unix-based environs ?
 2. is or are there C versions of this system available

Appreciate any information .. to reilly@cis.uab.edu

[[EDITOR: We have a small GPSS kernel written using C/Yacc/Lex but it
is really for educational purposes and includes only a small subset of the
GPSS language. If interested, obtain the SimPack C Toolkit using the
instructions at the head of this digest -PAF]]

We are looking for commercial or public domain software to assist in
circuit simulation. Ideally, we would like to obtain a graphic, iconic
circuit editor that generates a Spice-like file as output.

Thanks,

Does anybody know where I can find SPICE-parameters for
bipolar transistors working in radio frequencies? I'd like
to have parameters for (at least) the following components:

BFG67
BFG135,A
BFG198
BFP183
BFP193
BFP81
BFP93A
BFR96S
BFS19
BLT50
BLT80
BLT911SL
BLU30/28
BLU60/28
BLV86
BLV90
BLV193
BSR31
MRF325
MRF327
MRF5175
MRF951
MRF9511,L
MRF9411,L

S-parameters for RF-transistors are available at some
manufacturers, but if SPICE-parameters of any kind exist
I would appreciate any information. Also information about
commercial parameter measurement services in Europe is welcome.

ENVIRONMENTAL MODELING SURVEY

Continuing my advocacy of computer modeling and simulation as
means for improving the UNDERSTANDING of environmental problems --
which I consider a prerequisite for their solution -- I am making
a survey of pertinent work in progress.

This is to solicit information about both organizations and
people actively working for the preservation or improvement of
our environment (e.g., conservation of our forests, abatement of
pollution, development of alternate energy sources, etc., etc.)
-- even if they are not yet using modeling.

I will appreciate anyone who knows of such work sending me:

         Name of person or organization
         Mailing address
         E-mail address, if any
Primary thrust of the work, if known
Use of models or not, if known

If YOU will do so --

OUR ENVIRONMENT might be the beneficiary!

April 1-3, 1992
Scottsdale, Arizona

This international conference provides a forum for the
presentation and exchange of current work in the field of
synergism of computers and communications, and their applications
areas. We are particularly soliciting industrial, business, and
government participation as well as the active involvement of the
academic community. We know it is vital that there be a dialogue
between practitioners and researchers. Thus, in addition to
research contributions, we look forward to reports detailing
experiments, evaluations, problems, and opportunities associated
with design, implementation, and operation. Such reports will be
given special consideration.

Submitted manuscript must be no longer than 5,000 words, be typed
double-spaced, and include an abstract of approximately 300
words. Long papers and reports will not be considered. Authors
should obtain company and government clearances prior to
submission of the papers.

Please submit five copies of complete paper and abstract by 15

Integrated Solutions for Manufacturing

COMPUTER INTEGRATION OF MANUFACTURING IS THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT INGREDIENT
IN ACHIEVING WORLD CLASS COMPETITOR STATUS!

>From entertainment to exploring space, computers are making it happen faster,
more economically, more accurately, and more predictably. You are invited to
submit a paper and/or become a session chairperson as part of the biggest
"Teach-In" ever for those innovative and creative people who must rethink how
they make their products.

The integration of people into the organization and process is the key to
CIM's success. Three separate educational tracks will run simultaneously
with each track aimed at a particular level of employee. Track 1 for the
CEO/Owner, Track 2 for middle management and Track 3 for the "Techie".
Each of the tracks will cover subjects relating to three broad categories:

     * CAD - Computer Aided Design
     * CIM - Computer Integrated Manufacturing
     * Networking - Vertically *and* Horizontally

Additional subjects for the three tracks will include:

Track 1: Track 2: Track 3:
* Business Philosophy * MIS Management * Simulation Techniques
* Financial Management   * Plant Management       * Concurrent/Simultaneous
* Competitive Techniques * Production Management Engineering
* Trade Concerns * Supervision * Flexible Manufacturing
* Case Studies * Team Building * Plant Case Studies
                                                  * Next Generation Controller

TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE! An intent to submit needs to be received by CIMDEX 91
before July 1, 1991. The intent should include title, subject category, and a
one page abstract. You will be notified of abstract acceptability by July 15,
1991. Complete manuscripts need to be received typewritten by July 31, 1991.
The manuscript will be reviewed for originality, clarity, completeness,
accuracy, usefulness, currency, and presentability.

Please send or FAX your intent to submit directly to the General Program
Chairman:

I am trying to find out if there exist simulations involving Kalman
filters, particularly involving Global Positioning System receivers.
Is there anyone out there that has information on this subject?
