Whenever I try to send a message which expands (in /usr/lib/aliases) to another alias file, I always get a failure message for the first entry of the file. Anybody know what's wrong? Here is a concrete example: /usr/lib/aliases contains a line of the form: std-mumps-People: :include:/usr/usr/hokey/Mod/aliases /usr/usr/hokey/Mod/aliases contains four entries: mumps@clover.ucdavis.edu dsm.dec.com!herring dsm.dec.com!berryman dsm.dec.com!white The message is sent with the following recipients: To: std-mumps Bcc: std-mumps-People As moderator, I ignore the message I send to std-mumps, but this enables recipients to do a simple "reply", and their message is sent to me instead of those on the list (I have to gateway messages into comp.std.mumps). (My mailer is smart about ! and @ mail.) Regardless of the order of the 4 mail alias recipients, the first one fails to be delivered, and I get the message: Received: by plus5.com (UIUC-5.31/24Nov86-03:13:38) id AA27548; Tue, 26 Jul 88 15:07:23 CDT Date: Tue, 26 Jul 88 15:07:23 CDT From: Mail Delivery Subsystem <MAILER-DAEMON> Subject: Returned mail: Unable to deliver mail Message-Id: <8807262007.AA27548@plus5.com> To: hokey ----- Transcript of session follows ----- 554 /usr/usr/hokey/Mod/aliases: line 0: mumps@clover.ucdavis.edu...
