Greetings, I want to hack my sendmail.cf (I think) so that my machine name changes. Do I do this in ruleset 0 where it handles local or do I do it in ruleset 3 (for pre-processing)? Or do I do it at all. Perhaps if I explained exactly what I need to do: Real World: dave@merit.houston.tx.us or similar bangpath needs to become: dave@sun1 )(or sun1.merit if you prefer) All of our mail comes into one place a machine called sun1 (yes, I know I didn't pick the name and can't change it)( in the domain merit. We are running yellow pages. It also thinks the domain is merit. So, I need to hack incoming and outgoing uucp traffic to maskl my idiotic choice of machine name to an ok domain name. The other thin BTW This -- This mauy\y not belogng here, but let me run it past you guys... I can't find the docs on hostmailhosts anywhere. Even though I have uucp the L.sys files setup mailing to "joe!outsideuucp" blowsup up. I get host unknown error messages. (sigh) I have read the sendmail docs front to back, but it they do not discuss the philiosophy of remappingyour your host name. Suggestonsions? David NEal {killer!bellcore}texbel!nuchat!abbadon
