[comp.mail.sendmail] Multiple address multiple delivery agent handling Unix mailer??

ulmo@ssyx.ucsc.edu (Brad Allen) (02/05/89)

I need an (ad hoc) Unix mail delivery program which can deliver mail using
different appropriate subsequent delivery agents to get mail to each site.
Some of this will be normal uucp rmail, some of this will be my own code to
do delivering to a few local BBS systems (using a script-style login session).

It would be nice if some of this work is done for me.
What I want to know is if anyone has the part of the program which can handle
addresses to different delivery agents on one invocation line.

These are some capabilities that I want:
- parse Internet and UUCP style mail to appropriate locally relevant form
- reroute specified addresses to specified other addresses
- deliver using appropriate agent
- handle multiple addresses right
- pass all unknown destinations to another specified site
(this is how I currently get Internet addressing, it works great!)

This is going to be stuck on a SCO Xenix box.
I know of sendmail, smail 2.5, smail 3.0, and MMDF.
What I want to know of is if any of these do what I want.
I also prefer to know how to get sources to anything you suggest
which will work on SCO Xenix. But if it's going to save me the trouble
of reprogramming any of this stuff, porting something wouldn't be that bad
(such as MMDF).

Email.
Thank you,

Brad Allen
