Where does sendmail get the names which are set in Cw? I have this machine, cc.rochester.edu. Its real name is "vera.cc.rochester.edu". Since no standard macro or class includes the alias, I have to kludge up my beautiful sendmail.cf to handle this. It's also very annoying that you can't use fully qualified names in a class, such as CW$w cc.rochester.edu or something like that, because the dots in the name screw up the class definition. The IDA 1.2.8 sendmail enhancements allow you to use elements of classes as sequences of tokens, i.e. foo.bar.edu will match its the correponding string in the input. My recommendation is to grab IDA and use it with sendmail 5.61. -- Juergen Wagner gandalf@csli.stanford.edu wagner@arisia.xerox.com
