I have been playing with a program called filter, that is distributed with the Elm mailer. Filter allows one to write macros to do things with incoming mail, which you pipe through it via the .forward file: "|/usr/csd/stf/dave/bin/filter" Now, I notice that if I run with the above .forward file, and someone else runs with the same .forward file, and we are both on a local mailing list, that only the first person on the list gets the mail. Is this a sendmail feature? :-( I have kludged a way around this by adding a dummy argument to the filter program, the last argument being a user's login. This being unique, sendmail delivers to all recipients (unless someone is stupid enough to copy a .forward file verbatim (hmmm, I could cause someone else all kinds of trouble with a fake .forward file if I were on their list ... hmmmm) Any suggestions? -- Dave Rasmussen c/o Computing Services Division @ U of WI - Milwaukee Internet: dave@csd4.milw.wisc.edu Uucp: uwvax!uwmcsd1!uwmcsd4!dave {o,o} Any opinions expressed are my own.
