Can anybody name the kids sunday show (which always had a lesson to
be learned) which starred a boy and his dog (among other characters).
this was not a live show, but the characters were the clay, stop motion
type.

Also, this for the 'older' trivia people, can anyone give me information
about 'the thunderbirds', a show featuring marionettes and far-out space
vehichles? i remember VERY little about the show.

as they say, thanx in advnace! Also, please do not post responses,
but mail them to me, and if there is enough material, i will post
the results.

AAAArrrrgggh! You don't mean "Davy and Goliath" do you?!?!?
That brings back all sorts of sick memories. Especially when Goliath
would say: "Sorry Daaaaavvvyyyyy...".

Believe it or not, that show is STILL (!!) on the air on sundyas
in NYC. Whatta concept.

<is this bug still around?>

The show you're thinking of was called "Davey & Goliath", and was about
a boy (Davey) and his dog (Goliath), who discovered a new moral lesson
every sunday. 'Twas done with stop-motion animation of clay figurines
(every seen Gumby and Pokey? Same idea). I seem to recall the show had
a strong religious bent.

This show was called Davy and Goliath, Davy being the boy and Goliath the
dog. It was a series of moral plays sponsored by the Lutheran church.
If you look hard enough you can find it periodically on cable.

The religous bent is not surprising since Davey and Goliath was produced
by the Luthern Church of America. The emphasis was on the more widely
accepted concepts within Christianity (love thy neaighbor, relationship
with God and your fellow man etc) rather than any specific doctrine or
creed.

Hadn't you noticed Luther's symbol, the 5-petaled rose at the end
of each episode?

Good (but not great) stop-motion animation. Somewhat watered-down
plots.... but friendly and enjoyable to watch.
