Hi. We have just gotten a connection to the real world via the internet.
Since our cis dept. is busy, I would like to go ahead and set the system up
for internet mail. I recompiled sendmail (5.61) to use the nameserver, and
I mucked around witht sendmail.cf file so I am able to send mail out. The
problem however is that the headers don't always come out right. i.e. mail
to markw minshall@kinetics buzz@phoenix.princeton.edu should be send to
markw@optics.kinetics.com
minshall@kinetics.kinetics.com
buzz@phoenix.princeton.edu
but is actually rewritten to
markw
minshall@kinetics.kinetics.com
buzz@phoenix.princeton.edu
so something is wrong with S11 and R11 rewriting. Note that this system had
been setup for a uucp connection.
I would really appreciate getting sendmail.cf files or tips and pointers. This
machine will be our mail-hub, as far as sending mail out; all otehr machines
will give it mail for sending over internet.
Also, what needs to be done to get outside mail to come to us directly?
