I don't know if this is an easy fix and I've just been hacking too long, or what, but here goes... I have a Mac SE that is running TSSnet from Alisa systems so that it looks like a DECnet node. We have a MicroVAX II running ULTRIX 3.0 that is our DECnet-TCP/IP gateway for mail and what not. We also have many other machines one of which is a SUN 2/170(?). My problem is this: When I send mail from my Mac (knight) to the SUN 2/170, it goes to the MicroVAX II (mx). The MicroVAX II has sendmail munch on it, then sends it on to the SUN 2/170 (csun). When I read the message on csun, the headers look like this: From :mst@knight.csun.edu Fri Jun 16 12:25:11 1989 Return-Path: <:mst@knight.csun.edu> Received: from mx.csun.edu by csun.edu (3.2/smail2.5/csun3-27-89) id AA27514; Fri, 16 Jun 89 12:25:07 PDT Received: from KNIGHT.DECnet MAIL11D_V3 by mx.csun.edu (5.57/Ultrix2.4-C) id AA02116; Fri, 16 Jun 89 12:23:54 PDT Date: Fri, 16 Jun 89 12:23:53 PDT Message-Id: <8906161923.AA02116@mx.csun.edu> From: :mst@knight.csun.edu (Michael Temkin) To: mst@csun.edu Subject: Test Status: R Notice the extra ':' in front of 'mst@knight.csun.edu'. This is the problem. I have been trying for two days now trying to remove this with no luck. The address is accepted by mx as 'knight::mst' and is transformed into 'mst@knight.csun.edu', ideally, but this is not the case. HELP!!! Thanks in advance, Mike Temkin mst@mx.csun.edu Cal. State U.
