I have been (trying) to act as the forwarder of a mailing list. It works for the most part, but I am having a little trouble with the "Errors-To:" header line. The actual origination of the list messages comes from a machine we have a UUCP connection with, and I forward the Internet messages for them. The problem is that the Errors-To: line ends up with a bang path address in it that is only valid from my machine, and this causes MANY hosts on the net to choke and puke. I have tried using sed to force the Errors-To: line to be something more sensible, but it seems sendmail adds its own version of the line anyway. I have looked at the sendmail.cf, and I don't see any control over the Errors-To line - in fact, I can't even tell what causes it to be included, Of course, I don't have a copy of the source (8-{) so I'm forced to announce my ignorance and solicit suggestions. Can anyone tell what causes the Errors-To: header line to be included? How can I control it? Should I get a newer version of sendmail (I am using the sendmail.mx I snagged from uunet's sun-fixes directory). BTW, I am running a Sun 3/160 (4.0.1). Thanks in advance for any help. -- Rick Kruse University of Tulsa rlk@tusun2.knet.utulsa.edu
