Help ! I am currently in the last stages of setting up email. I am using a SUN workstation and modem, connecting to qmc-cs.uucp as a mail feed. I have used uksendmail, supplied by RACAL to set up my configuration file. I am using standard SUN uucp, not ukuucp. I have succeeded in connecting to QMC, can send mail to them, and receive mail from them, bar one problem - sendmail goes into a loop with : unparseable address qmc-cs!pd The message arrives in the right place, so the 'To:' address is ok. After this sendmail stays in a loop when trying to parse whatever the 'From:' address is. I have run sendmail in test mode, and tried some addresses which parse as follows : uknet@ukc => $# "uucp" $@ "qmc-cs" $: "<" "ukc" "." "ac" "." "uk" "!" "uknet" rogere@cogs.susx.ac.uk => $# "uucp" $@ "qmc-cs" $: "<" "ukc" "." "ac" "." "uk" "!" "cogs" "." "susx" "." "ac" "." "uk" "!" "rogere" pd@qmc-cs.uucp => $# "uucp" $@ "qmc-cs" $: "<" "ukc" "." "ac" "." "uk" "!" "qmc-cs" "." "uucp" "!" "pd" The strange thing is that I have also tried connecting to "iclbra" as a mail feed (a problem their end has forced me to start again with qmc). They were able to send messages to me no problem. The only change in the configuration setup is : ukc.ac.uk iclbra!ukc.ac.uk!%s to ukc.ac.uk qmc-cs!ukc.ac.uk!%s in tables file integ.uucp.chn. iclbra and qmc-cs are both first field entries in my L.sys file. The only other difference I have noticed in the messages from icl and qmc is: Received: from iclbra.UUCP by integ.uucp; .... Received: from qmc-cs.UUCP by integ.integ.uucp; .... I hope this makes sense, although I am a bit confused ... Can you help ? I have currently switched off the autodial to qmc as sendmail fills up the file system (if no-one intervenes) when it receives a message. Could you possibly phone me, Karen Osborne on 0256 882028 ?
