I am setting up UUCP facilities in my sendmail.cf and am having considerable problems with the mailer 'U' flag. I have two mailers set up : 1) uucp, which is for outgoing UUCP mail. 2) local, which is for local and incoming UUCP mail. I have the 'U' flag set on "uucp" and get the correct old format Unix From lines with "remote from XXXX" etc. If I turn the 'U' flag on for "local" the incoming UUCP mail is correct but the local mail then fails with : 554 No ! in UUCP! (xxxx) I assumed this is because no local host exists to create the Unix From line from so I fudged the send set to tack on the local host name. This works but is not what I would call a solution as all the local mail then has a "rmote from" line as well. How have other people done this ? I though perhaps I could somehow detect incoming UUCP mail and direct it to a seperate mailer with the 'U' flag on and take the 'U' flag off the local mailer ? +---------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Nigel Harwood Phone: +61 3 829 6090 | | Technical Analyst E-mail: nigel%cmsfl@labtam.oz.au | | Coles Myer Ltd.
