I'm trying to get sendmail on my DECstation 3100 to understand domain addresses (my registered domain is idsila.com), and I think I can use pathalias to translate the domain addresses (ie, something like xxxx.idsila.com) so that sendmail can forward the mail. But I don't know how to get sendmail to use pathalias. There is no info on this in the man pages for sendmail and pathalias. Also, we have an Ethernet LAN setup with the DS3100, a VAXstation 3100, and a MicroVax. Sendmail seems to handle decnet address such as nodename::user easily, but I want to be able to *forward* incoming mail with addresses that may not know that these nodes are accessed via decnet, ie, either translating user@nodename.idsila.com --> nodename::user or ..uunet!hammer!nodename!user --> nodename::user (hammer is the DS3100).. Couldsome sendmail guru please shed some light? Jock Cooper IDSI -- Los Angeles jockc@idsila.com or uunet!hammer!jockc or jockc@attctc.Dallas.TX.US
