I would be very grateful for someone to mail me tips on the most efficient way of getting sendmail to map login IDs to mail IDs so that mail from John Smith at our site (uk.ac.soton.ecs) would appear with header lines like: From J.Smith@uk.ac.soton.ecs Tue, 29 May 90 14:40:50 BST From: "John Smith" <J.Smith@uk.ac.soton.ecs> .... rather than js@uk.ac.soton.ecs which is the default. We have a net of about 30 unix machines which forward all mail over the ether to a central server. We aren't yet running the latest sendmail 5.61+IDA. Many thanks, Tim Chown postmaster@ecs.soton.ac.uk
