I have installed smail2.5 and it seems to work fine except for one small
problem: sendmail apparently doesn't think my local or prog mailers are
defined anymore.
I replaced my old sendmail.cf with the one supplied with smail. Now, whenever
mail is executed (or sendmail I assume, since I have tried to execute it
directly and get the same error), the user is told:
No local mailer defined
No prog mailer defined
This, however, is somewhat untrue, since these mailers *are* defined in
the sendmail.cf file. I checked. However, now I can only assume that sendmail
is for some reason not reading in the Mailer definitions, or at least not
correctly. Perhaps they are in the wrong place? I don't know enough to know.
Here, for your benefit, are the lines from sendmail.cf:
Mlocal, P=/bin/lmail, F=lsDFMhumSU, S=10, R=20, A=rmail $u
#Mlocal, P=/bin/lmail, F=lsDFMhumSU, S=10, R=10, A=rmail $u
#Mlocal, P=/bin/lmail, F=rlsDFMmn, S=10, R=20, A=mail -d $u
Mprog, P=/bin/sh, F=lsDFMe, S=10, R=20, A=sh -c $u
The first commented Mlocal is the Mlocal taken from our *original* sendmail.cf.
Thanks.
