Note: Any views expressed in this mail message are not attributable to Logica in any way - they have simply been kind enough to provide a temporary username to allow me to establish an email connection to Nokia Telecommunications. I urgently need some help on tracking down a program that allows email interchange between the Unix sendmail and VMS DECNET worlds. Having read the overview document of the UK Sendmail 2.1 configuration package it mentions the support of 'DECNET' channels using a program callled 'mail11'. We have a string of Apollo workstations (DN2500/3500s running Domain OS 10.2) linked together and to a Vax (running VMS 5.2) by a central ethernet. The Vax is connected to a large number of Vaxen in Finland and will thus act as our gateway between the UK and Finland. The Apollos are running some version of sendmail (I haven't found out which yet), and the Vax is running the standard VMS mail system. What I require is a handle on how to get hold of this 'mail11' program, how to install and use it, and any "I would/wouldn't do this if I were you" advice from anyone who has managed to link sendmail to DECNET mail. Any takers? Logica have been kind enough to allow me use this mail address for the next few weeks and thus you can reply to this mail message. Otherwise I can be contacted at:- Nokia Telecommunications Ltd, 6 Cambridge Business Park, Milton Road, Cambridge, CB4 4WT. Tel: (0223) 423123 Fax: (0223) 423139 Thanks in advance, Colin Grant.
