[comp.mail.sendmail] Internet Forwarder needed

dave@galaxia.Newport.RI.US (David H. Brierley) (08/22/90)

I am looking for someone who is willing to act as an Internet forwarder for
a group of small systems located in and around Newport RI. Four of the
systems are currently registered in the .US domain and three more are either
in the process of registering or waiting for me to give them the go ahead.
The way we have things set up right now is that my system calls the Internet
forwarder and picks up all the mail destined for any of the hosts and then
calls each of the local hosts to deliver the mail. This way we concentrate
the long distance phone calls to keep the cost down and we also lessen the
burden on the forwarder host. The reason that I am looking for a new
forwarder instead of continuing to use the existing one is that my attempts
to add the fifth host to the list have met with empty promises and
non-caring silence. I figure that almost two months should be more than
enough time to make a 10 minute change to a configuration file, especially
since basically all they needed to do was copy one of the existing entries
and change the name.

So, would someone be willing to act as the Internet forwarder for the group
of us and allow me to set up a uucp link to their system so that I may dial
in and pick up the mail. Mail traffic currently consists of around a half
dozen messages a day, frequently only one or two messsages a day. Location
is not a problem since I am currently calling long distance to the existing
forwarder and once you leave RI the rates flatten out real quick, the only
restriction is that I don't want to call outside of the US. I am currently
doing all of the calling and am willing to continue doing so, so there would
be no financial costs for you other than the cost of the disk space.

Thanks in advance to anyone that can help me out in this matter.
