I have a problem to configure a sendmail ( Sun sparcserver ) to use nameserver MX-records.I use sendmail in sun which I have also defined as a secondary nameserver in our zone so it gets its information from primary server and it only have a file named.local . So I would like to sendmail to acct so that when it sees a MX record in my local machine (sun) it would send message to my main mail-router. Otherwise if there isn't where such a record it should ask from some nameserver (defined in a file resolv.conf) that's hosts address. So is it a possible for me to write to file named.local like this: host.xyx.domain. IN MX 0 my.main.mail.router. where host.xyz.domain can be any name of hosts in my domain and my.main.mail.router is the router which has capability to route that particular host (in this case host.xyz.domain) mail forward. But any other host which I don't include in that file I would like to resolv their addresses by resolver calls to nameservers which I have defined in resolv.conf. I tried to make this work with ida sendmail but I seems that it can't resolv those hosts addresses because I don't have named running locally in that machine (only resolver ). What should I do ?? Modify my sendmail.cf or try to install some other stuff in my machine ? And how can I make ida-sendmail use those machines defined in resolv.conf If someone has a good teamplate of such a sendmail.cf which does these magic changes I would appreciate if you could post me a one. -- * Tuominen Keijo E-mail adresses: * * Klaneettitie 18 d 56 00420 HKI keijo.tuominen@.vtt.fi (Office)* * Phone (Home): 90-538606 TELEFAX: * * Phone (Office): 456-4295 VTT +358 0 460648 *
