I'm looking for information on setting up our sendmail.cf file so that the from line will be correct. Currently we can not receive replies in this manner, the entire address must be entered. We are using a vanilla version of the sendmail.cf file and we have tried both the 4.0.3 and the 4.1 version that came with our systems. Our configuration is as follows: Our relay host for access to UUnet is a Sun 3/160 running the 4.0.3 operating system. Also in our network are a Sun 4/360, which is our server, and 4 Sparcstation 1+ systems. The server and Sparcs are running 4.1 o/s. We are serviced by Uunet and therefore our domain is uunet.uu.net. The problem that we are experiencing is that, as an example, the address of user%host@uunet.uu.net will return in the from line - uunet!@!user. If the address is entered as uunet!host!client!user, then the from line will be returned correctly. I suspect that there is a problem in the rulesets in sendmail.cf but I'm not sure where. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please email any responses to uunet!konkord!kc remember, you can't reply to us any other way. I will post any responses that I receive. -- Karen Cormier (508)460-4646 X216 Concord Communications, Inc. uunet!konkord!kc 753 Forest Street or Marlboro, MA 01752, USA kc%konkord@uunet.uu.net
