The machine we have that acts as a Internet gateway has two problems.
Any mail with a '%' in the envelope address is bounced with two error
messages. It acts as if the entire address is a local address and
complains of "user unknown".
Also, much of the mail received at this site comes in via UUCP. For
these pieces of mail, the gateway site uses a pure !-path as the "MAIL
From" site in the SMTP negotiation. This causes a problem when
communicating with certain machines (usually DEC and IBM computers).
Any suggestions for changes to the sendmail.cf file would be
appreciated. Example bounce messages follow...
