[comp.mail.sendmail] Maybe .. Sun 4.1 sendmail.mx doesn't or similar

efb@anacapa.NCEL.Navy.Mil (Everett F. Batey) (11/06/90)

Author seemed to be on the track of sendmail.mx.4.1 that maybe IS NOT ..
Gee try strings /usr/lib/sendmail.mx and tell me what those dates mean
to you .. didnt we just go thru this same exercise with the CERT folks
having to send out the last fix for the WHOOPS_sendmail ..

My symptoms are a bit different .. I CANT FOCUS on the MAILHOST ..

Just got some 4.1 Suns connected together and am trying to focus the
outbound mail thru ONE host ( master .. not subsidiary ) and using the
file that worked so well on my 4.0.3 .. sendmail -bt says everything
going out is going to go to the master .. :-( /var/log/syslog and the
mailer-daemon )-: tell me that sendmail -bt lies and only my user@host.uucp
and local mail go as directed. Well only the mailhost has forwarding to
the internet and I need to focus outbound mail there.

Can anyone suggest which rule fragment to hack and how .. there are many
lines that refer to this but I can find NO examples .. HELP ...

Likewise, is the only thing I need for inbound from outside the MX records?

What do I need to assure that only the master writes mail to master:/var/spool
/mail ?? All ideas greatly appreciated. /Ev/
